The ONE Pass, explained
The Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass (ONE Pass) is Singapore's work pass for top-tier talent, and it works differently from the Employment Pass (EP). It's a personal pass rather than an employer-sponsored one: it lasts five years, it isn't tied to a single job, and holders can concurrently start, operate, and work for several companies in Singapore. Change roles and there's nothing to re-apply for.
For founders it has one more draw: you can run your own venture and take outside work at the same time, which an EP doesn't allow.
Who qualifies
There are two routes in:
- Salary. A fixed salary of at least S$30,000 a month, either earned in Singapore or earned overseas within the last year while working for an established company.
- Outstanding achievements. Individuals with recognised achievements in arts and culture, sports, science and technology, or academia and research can qualify without meeting the salary bar.
The full criteria are on the MOM website. If you're close to the bar but not over it, the Employment Pass is usually the answer.

What it means for your family
ONE Pass holders can sponsor a Dependant's Pass (DP) for a spouse and children, and here the pass has a real edge: the spouse of a ONE Pass holder can work in Singapore under a Letter of Consent (LOC), including for an employer. Dependants of EP holders don't get that concession.
