Accounting services in Singapore, explained
Every company registered in Singapore must keep proper accounting records, prepare financial statements each year, and file taxes with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). That's a legal requirement under the Companies Act, and it applies whether you had a busy year or barely traded.
What the law expects from your company
- Accounting records kept up to date and retained for at least five years.
- Year-end financial statements: for most SMEs, unaudited financial statements (UFS).
- Corporate tax filings: Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) after year end and an annual tax return by 30 November.
- For some companies, financial statements filed with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) in XBRL format.
Bookkeeping vs full accounting services
Bookkeeping is the recording work: capturing and reconciling every transaction so your ledger reflects reality. Accounting builds on those books to produce management accounts, financial statements, and tax computations. Our packages combine both, while the Essential Compliance package covers just the statutory layer for companies that keep books elsewhere.
A process built around how you work
The first thing we do at onboarding isn't bookkeeping. It's setting up the way we'll work together: the channel you prefer (a WhatsApp group, Slack, or a dedicated email address you can forward things to), who sends what, and when the books get closed. Then we automate what happens behind it. Take a photo of a receipt over lunch and ping it to us; from there the document is processed and coded automatically and lands cleanly in your Xero.
We also build your chart of accounts around how you think about the business, not around a template. That's agreed with you at onboarding, so the full management accounts you get back answer your questions rather than an accountant's.
And we implement Xero properly. A surprising number of companies come to us with a setup that quietly fights them: the wrong financial year end, the wrong functional currency, conversion balances that don't match, GST recorded by a company that isn't GST-registered. Fixing that is part of onboarding.
Who it's for
- Business owners doing the books themselves who want that time back.
- Companies with an accounting team whose time is better spent on analysis than on repetitive bookkeeping.
- Founders who want a clearer view of their numbers and what actually drives them.
What you get
A process that fits you
At onboarding we set up the comms channel you prefer (a WhatsApp group, Slack, or a dedicated email), then automate what happens behind it. Photograph a receipt, ping it over, and it lands cleanly in your Xero.
A custom chart of accounts
Built with you at onboarding to match how you think about the business, so your full management accounts answer your questions, not an accountant’s.
Xero, implemented properly
Correct year end, currency, and conversion balances, with bank feeds connected. We fix the setups other providers got wrong.
Statements & tax filing
Year-end unaudited financial statements, plus Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) and the corporate income tax return filed with IRAS.
A team that answers
A named accountant you can reach on WhatsApp or email, who explains things in plain English rather than accounting jargon.

* Basic and above run on cloud accounting software, typically Xero (QuickBooks works too). The licence is charged separately from the package. Already have one? Bring it. If not, we can arrange it. As a Xero partner our rate is below Xero's list price and we pass it on rather than marking it up, along with any sign-up discount Xero is running. Xero publishes current pricing.
** A transaction is any sale or expense we record, so 10 invoices out and 15 receipts in comes to 25. Running a POS or anything like it? All your sales for the period count once, because we work from the summary it produces rather than the individual till receipts.
More than a hundred transactions a month? We'll build a custom package around your volume. Get a quote.

What actually drives the price
Two things move the price of accounting in Singapore: how many transactions flow through your books, and how often you want them closed.
Transaction volume is the first. Every invoice, payment, and journal entry has to be recorded and reconciled. Our packages include a yearly allowance, from 50 transactions on Starter to 1,200 on Premium, and extra transactions are added in blocks of 25 at the rates shown above, so growth never triggers a surprise invoice. Doing more than a hundred transactions a month? We'll build a custom package around your volume.
Closing frequency is the second. Annual closing satisfies the statutory minimum, but it means you see a clear financial picture once a year. Quarterly closing (Standard) gives you four checkpoints; monthly closing (Premium) means you always know where you stand. On Basic you can add quarterly or monthly closings without changing package.

Outsourcing vs hiring in-house
A full-time accountant in Singapore costs several thousand dollars a month before Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions and benefits. That makes sense once your volume justifies it, and it's hard to justify for most SMEs. Outsourcing gets you a whole team, the software, and the statutory filings for a fixed yearly fee, usually a fraction of one month of that salary.
There's a second advantage: this is what we do for a living. The setup, the processes, and the outputs you get have been built and sharpened across hundreds of clients, which no single in-house hire starts with. Our prices are published on this website with government-fee treatment spelled out, and you get a named accountant you can reach on WhatsApp, who answers in plain English rather than accounting jargon. If you're switching from another provider, our switching guide covers the handover step by step, and catch-up bookkeeping brings messy books current before we start.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which package I need?
Count your rough monthly bank transactions. Under ~4 a month fits Starter; up to 20 a month fits Basic; beyond that Standard or Premium adds more transactions plus quarterly or monthly closings. We confirm the fit in a free call.
What counts as a transaction?
Both sales and expenses count. 10 sales invoices plus 15 expense receipts? That’s 25 transactions. And if you run a POS system (or anything like it), your sales count as just one transaction for the period, because we work from the sales summary your system spits out. You’re not paying bookkeeping rates for till receipts.
What if our books are currently a mess?
Our catch-up bookkeeping service cleans up and completes historical records before the ongoing package starts, so you begin from an accurate baseline.
Do I need a Xero licence?
For Basic packages and above, yes. The higher transaction volumes need proper cloud accounting software, typically Xero (QuickBooks works too). Already have a licence? Bring it and we plug straight in. If not, we can arrange the subscription. As a Xero partner our rate is below Xero's list price and we pass it on rather than marking it up, along with any sign-up discount Xero is running, so it costs less through us than direct. Either way, we handle the setup and bank feed connections.
Is accounting mandatory for Singapore companies?
Yes. The Companies Act requires every Singapore company to keep proper accounting records and prepare annual financial statements, and IRAS requires yearly tax filings. Even dormant companies have obligations. Our dormant package keeps them covered at S$690 a year.
What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping records and reconciles the transactions; accounting turns those records into management accounts, financial statements, and tax filings. You need both. Our packages bundle them, and Essential Compliance covers just the statutory layer if your books are done elsewhere.
Can I outsource my accounting in Singapore?
Yes. Outsourcing to a provider like Duellix is standard practice for Singapore SMEs. You stay in control of the business while we handle recording, statements, and IRAS filings for a fixed published fee.
